Saad Shots Dead After Tragic Motor Accident – Prominent Ugandan Photographer Mourned

April 18, 2025 – Uganda’s photography, tourism, and sports communities have been struck with grief as news of the untimely death of Saad Byakuleka, famously known as Saad Shots, a renowned photographer, creative, and former DJ at Open Gate FM, broke. Saad Shots, who had a deep passion for motorbikes, evidenced by his final tweets on X, tragically lost his life in a motorcycle accident at Bugonga Junction near the Entebbe Air Base. According to Deputy Police Spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan, Luke Owoyesigyire, two motorcycles were involved in a fatal collision, and both riders were pronounced dead at the scene.


Saad Shots’ passing has sparked emotional posts and memory sharing from friends, friends, colleagues, and countless fans who admired his great skills in photography.

Saad Shots was broadly recognised for his outstanding work in event coverage, tourism promotion, portraiture, and sports photography, capturing iconic images during football matches at Mandela National Stadium (Namboole), motorsport events, concerts by both international and local music artistes such as Eddy Kenzo and A Pass, the famous sunset URA Towers portrait, and wildlife imagery for the #VisitUganda campaign.

As friends, family, and colleagues wait for official communication on his send-off, Saad Shots’ vigil is being held at Seguku-Katale. May his soul Rest in Peace

Saad Shots Funeral Arrangement 
As announced by the family, Saad Shots’ burial will take place on Sunday, 20th April at noon in Kiruhura District, Kazo-Kitongore. Several brands have offered transport buses for those who wish to attend. Contact details are provided on the flyer below.
