Simba Fiber Uganda is likely one of the earliest unlimited fibre optic broadband internet service providers in Uganda, yet it remains less popular than its competitors. This could be attributed to their advertising budget, as evidenced by the scarcity of Simba Fiber signage. While gathering reviews for this article, we noticed that most Simba Fiber coverage areas lacked the typical electricity pole signages seen with competitors like MTN WakaNet and SprintUG.
How to Get Simba Unlimited Fiber Internet in Uganda
Start by visiting the Simba Fiber Uganda website to verify coverage. Once confirmed, use Google Maps on the same page to pinpoint your address and share your live location pin with Simba Fiber Uganda via their WhatsApp number, accessible through the contact page.
After submitting your address, you can complete the new connection form in two ways: provide the required details, such as your location, name, phone number, email address, and your preferred fiber optic internet package, via WhatsApp, or fill out a new connection form on their website for a new connection. Using WhatsApp often gets you a faster response.
You will then be assigned an installation date, typically within 1–3 days. Simba Fiber Internet installation takes at most an hour.
Simba Fiber Internet Installation Fee
The Simba Fiber Internet installation one-time fee is UGX 30,000, payable with the monthly package. Implying if you choose the 50 Mbps package at UGX 120,000, you pay UGX 150,000 for the first month. The internet connection is instant, and all payments are made afterwards.
Simba Fiber Uganda Unlimited Internet Packages
Listed on their two websites (simbatv.co.ug and simbafiber.ug), Simba Fiber Uganda internet packages start at UGX 120,000 for the speed of 50 Mbps, going up to the Simba Corporate package at UGX 499,000 for 300 Mbps.
During our customer experience review, most users seemed satisfied with the 50 Mbps package, which supported seamless movie streaming, downloads, and uploads at the advertised speeds, as well as watching YouTube videos in HD and 4K. At times, users experience internet speeds beyond the listed 50 Mbps, likely due to the “More data can be transferred” note on the package page.

Pros of Simba Fiber Internet
Improved customer support through call and WhatsApp messaging. However, website-based communication could be improved. Assigned technicians are prompt and efficient.
In contrast to Linus on Tech Select’s 2023 YouTube video, What is the Best Unlimited Internet Service Provider in Uganda, a customer experience survey by Nymy Net in the areas of Bunga and Najjera shows that Simba Fiber Uganda has significantly improved its customer support over the years.
Unlike other internet service providers, whose routers take 5–7 minutes to reconnect after power outages, Simba Fiber’s routers reportedly restore the connection in just 1–2 minutes.
Simba Fiber Internet Payment Option
A drawback of Simba Fiber Internet is its limited payment options, accepting only Airtel Money or PayWay. This restricts users who rely on MTN SIM cards.

Pro Tips: Factors to Consider When Choosing Internet Services in Uganda
When selecting an internet service provider in Uganda, beyond coverage, consider the following four factors:
#1. False Advertising
Does the advertised internet speed (Mbps) match what you actually get after subscribing? If a provider promises 50 Mbps, it shouldn’t drop to 25 Mbps.
#2. Truly Unlimited Internet
Unlimited internet should mean exactly that—no data caps and no restrictions on the number of connected devices. If your 50 Mbps has to be split across devices, that’s a red flag.
#3. Equal Upload and Download Speeds
Many providers advertise 50 Mbps, but only for downloads. Upload speeds are often much lower, like 10 Mbps. Providers like Canalbox Uganda have been reported for this. It becomes a problem when uploading large files, like a 9GB video, taking hours!
#4. Reliable Customer Support
Effective customer support is crucial when technical issues arise. Evaluate how quickly you can contact customer care, how promptly your issue is resolved, and how long it takes for the internet service provider’s support team or technician to reach you.
