When is Museveni Swearing in 2026 for His Seventh Term as Uganda’s President

Uganda Media Centre has confirmed that President Yoweri Museveni will be sworn in on Tuesday, 12 May 2026, for his seventh term as President of Uganda, following the declaration of his election victory by Uganda’s Electoral Commission on 17 January 2026.

In a statement, the centre announced the swearing-in ceremony will take place at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds under the theme “Protecting the Gains, Making a Qualitative Leap into High Middle-Income Status.”

The statement added that dignitaries from around the world are expected to attend. According to the press release, the National Organising Committee, led by Permanent Secretary in the Office of the President, Hajji Yunus Kakande, is preparing for the event.

Without time details, the statement was signed by the newly appointed Executive Director of Uganda Media Centre, Alan Kasujja.
