On September 9, 2024, Apple held its “Glowtime” event, officially launching the iPhone 16 lineup alongside major updates to the Apple Watch and AirPods. Pre-orders began immediately after the event, and the products hit stores on September 20, 2024.

The highlight was Apple’s push into AI integration, with CEO Tim Cook stating the iPhone 16 models were “built from the ground up” to support new Apple Intelligence features.

iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus
Apple maintained the same pricing from the previous generation:

    • iPhone 16: $799
    • iPhone 16 Plus: $899

Both devices now run on the A18 chip, include an Action button (previously exclusive to the Pro line), and introduce a new Camera Control button for quick photo and video capture.

iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max
The Pro models got performance and camera upgrades:

  • iPhone 16 Pro: $999
  • iPhone 16 Pro Max: $1,199

They feature the more powerful A18 Pro chip, a slightly larger display, and major camera improvements across all three lenses. The Camera Control button is also included here, aimed at creators and media professionals.

Apple Watch Series 10
Released in September 2024, the Apple Watch Series 10 brought the largest display ever in an Apple Watch — available in 46mm and 42mm sizes — and a thinner 9.7mm body. Powered by the new S10 chip, it’s built for better performance and battery efficiency.
A new sleep apnea detection feature is in development, pending regulatory clearance, and will also roll out to the Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 once approved.

Apple Watch Ultra 2
While no major redesign was announced, the Apple Watch Ultra 2 received a sleek new satin black finish, expanding its appeal. It will also support the upcoming sleep tracking enhancements.

AirPods 4 and AirPods Pro Updates
Apple introduced two versions of AirPods 4:

  • A $129 model without active noise cancellation
  • A $179 version with active noise cancellation, transparency mode, and adaptive audio, powered by the H2 chip for better performance.

Meanwhile, the AirPods Pro 2 received software updates focused on hearing health, and the AirPods Max are now offered in new colour options.
