If you’ve been following tech YouTubers like Marques Brownlee, Unbox Therapy and the rest, you might have heard the term ‘Techtember’ in their video reviews. But what exactly is TechTember, and what does it signify?
Techtember refers to the annual period when many companies unveil their latest products and services. It’s not just a combination of the words ‘September’ and ‘Technology’; it also marks the beginning of the financial year for many of these tech giant companies.
While Apple is often associated with this period, it’s not the only player. Other prominent companies like Microsoft and Samsung also use this time to showcase their innovations. Notable product launches in previous years include the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus in 2016, the Galaxy Note 9 in 2018, the Pixel 4 and 4 XL in 2019, the MacBook Pro in 2021, the iPhone 14 and Apple Watch Series 8 in 2022, and Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio 2 and Surface Pro 10 in 2023.
This year’s Techtember promises more excitement, with Apple confirming the launch of the iPhone 16 lineup on September 9, 2024. In addition to Apple’s event, major product reveals from other tech giants, including Samsung, Google, and OnePlus, are expected to continue into October and November.
