You are likely here for one reason: to know when the 2025 PLE results will be released.

As of 19 January 2025, the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has not announced an official release date. Still, recent developments give a strong hint of when UNEB is likely to act.

By 8 January 2026, New Vision reported that marking of the 2025 PLE papers had been completed, with markers already sent home. This confirmed that results processing was in its final phase, with UNEB officials indicating that the results would be released on time once verification and grading were completed.

Another factor is the 2026 general elections. In the same reportage, officials noted that the PLE results would be released after the presidential and parliamentary polls. With the elections now concluded, the next stage now comes into view, placing the likely 2025 PLE results release window between 19 and 30 January 2026, roughly within two weeks after the presidential polls.

To narrow it further, the 2024 PLE results were released on 23 January 2025. Sources quoted by New Vision, speaking on condition of anonymity, indicated that UNEB is likely to follow a similar timeline this year. If that holds, the 2025 PLE results could be released around 23 January 2026, or earlier in the same week. A short delay into the following week is still possible, depending on the 2026 post-election environment.

Why doesn’t UNEB announce the dates earlier? Part of the reason is that the board waits until all final checks are complete. In the past, early or unofficial dates confused schools and parents, so UNEB now stresses that any official announcement will come only through its official channels, including uneb.ac.ug. This means the dates mentioned here are not final, but they give a likely window based on past patterns and current developments.

How to Check for PLE Results in Uganda
Once the results are released, UNEB will confirm the official access channels. In previous years, candidates accessed PLE results by sending an SMS with PLE[space]Full Index Number to 6600, through the UNEB e‑results portal, or via printed copies sent to schools and district inspectors shortly after release. UNEB will confirm whether the same methods will apply for the 2025 PLE results in its official announcement.
