For the tech enthusiasts out there, the CES 2025 tech bonanza has just wrapped up, and this year’s showcase has been nothing short of mind-blowing… and a little scary to be honest. Mind reading gadgets, and foldable everything… the annual Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas once again proved the ultimate paradise for the tech world. What happened there?
Ai is the new normal… it’s pretty evident that the age of Artificial Intelligence is upon us, and indeed the CES 2025 came with its share of AI. At the top was Nvidia’a Cosmos Ai model which turns digital models of roads, factories, homes, and other IRL spaces into simulations using generative AI, automating the training data needed to help robots better understand the physical world.
Samsung introduced an innovative method to control their TVs using a smartwatch, specifically the Galaxy Watch. The Quick Remote, allows users to manage their TVs through simple wrist gestures, eliminating the need for a traditional remote, smartphone, or voice commands. Health Tech. Health technology took centre stage with devices designed to blend seamlessly into our environments. Withings showcased the Omnia, an AI-powered smart mirror capable of conducting comprehensive body health scans and potentially serving as a telehealth platform. The concept promises to sync with other gadgets to provide a full picture of your health, all while functioning as a regular mirror.
Samsung also unveiled an AI-powered micro-LED mirror that examines and assesses skin health, offering personalized skincare recommendations. This innovation aims to integrate health monitoring into daily routines effortlessly.
And then there were the Ozlo Sleepbuds, designed for sleeping. And by this, I mean biometric sensors in the earbuds that can track your sleep, sensors in the case that can identify potential sleep interruptions in your room, and an in-ear alarm that won’t wake up a sleeping partner. They have a 10-hour battery life, too — no more waking up to a dead battery notification. mashable
Foldable everything: Foldable gadgets have been all the buzz these days—folding phones, bending TVs, and the CES 2025 didn’t disappoint either. LG’s StanbyME 2, a portable screen designed for various settings, offers flexibility and adaptability for users seeking mobility in their tech devices
Gaming evolutions: Gamers, this one is for you. Rokid showcased the Rokid AR Spatial glasses, which offer immersive audio experiences for gamers, potentially serving as an alternative to traditional gaming headsets.
Lenovo’s Legion Go S also came up on top of gaming innovations because of its operating system. It runs a Windows 11 system with a promise to release a model featuring Valve’s SteamOS, making it the only non-Valve-built portable to run SteamOS
Sustainable tech: Sustainability was another prominent theme at the CES 2025, with companies showcasing eco-friendly devices aimed at reducing waste and conserving energy. Samsung’s AI-powered fridge is designed to monitor food freshness, notifying users of expiring items and suggesting recipes to utilize ingredients.
CES 2025 left us with one clear message: the future is happening now. Innovations that seemed impossible a few years ago are becoming reality with different companies showing prototypes and concept models for the future.
