This review takes a closer look at Faibanet from a real user experience, exploring its unlimited internet speed, pricing, coverage, support, and overall reliability.
Where and how do I get Faibanet Internet?
To sign up, call the toll-free number on Faibanet’s official website. A customer support representative will guide you through the requirements and inform you that a WhatsApp text will follow immediately after the call to proceed with your order. It will come from a different number, don’t be alarmed.
Over WhatsApp, you’re asked to share your live location to confirm coverage. You then provide your name, phone number, email, and preferred package for order creation. A payment link to complete the order follows via email, directing you to a secure page on the official website where you can pay using mobile money (MTN or Airtel) or Visa/Mastercard.
For mobile money users, the transaction is processed to Bandwidth and Cloud Services Group Ltd, Faibanet’s parent company—something worth noting in a time when online fraud is real.
Fibre installation is promised within 72 hours, with most users reporting that technicians arrive as early as the next day after payment.
How Much is Faibanet Internet Per Month?
Slightly cheaper than most internet service providers in Uganda. Faibanet’s monthly plans start at UGX 99,000 for 40 Mbps, UGX 110,000 for 50 Mbps, and UGX 120,000 for 60 Mbps. The UGX 120,000 package is Faibanet’s recommended option, even though its price is similar to what competitors offer. The official website also lists high-tier plans that stretch up to 300 Mbps at UGX 500,000 for heavy users.

Is Faibanet’s internet Speed Good?
Faibanet’s internet speed, as advertised, holds up well and is a viable option for not only budget-conscious subscribers but also users seeking a reliable alternative. Saving UGX 20,000 off your monthly internet subscription compared to other fibre providers in Uganda can make a noticeable difference in your overall expenses.
For basic tasks such as browsing and social media, the 40 Mbps package is sufficient. You’ll enjoy smooth TikTok playback and decent YouTube quality, though buffering may occur during multitasking, like watching videos while downloading or uploading multiple files.
The 50 Mbps plan offers improved performance, while the 60 Mbps package delivers a more consistent experience. The 60 Mbps speed can comfortably handle streaming, casual gaming, and multiple devices. Yet, still, internet speed alone shouldn’t be the only factor when choosing an internet service provider.

Among all the internet service providers we have reviewed, Faibanet has the best customer care so far. Their support team responds promptly and handles inquiries reliably across phone calls and social media.
Their internet packages are competitively priced, coupled with installers who arrive on time and fibre speeds that generally match what’s advertised. However, there are a few reasons the experience might occasionally fall short…
Cons (Room for Improvement)
Coverage Is Limited
Faibanet currently serves parts of Ntinda, stretching to Bulindo and Nsasa in Kira Division, as well as Munyonyo, Buziga, and Kigo on the Makindye side. There may be other covered areas too, but since coverage can only be checked manually, we weren’t able to verify all locations. On that note, areas like Muyenga, Kololo, Nsambya, and Bunga are still marked “Fibre is planned,” but hey, they might have expanded to your area today. Lack of a Clear Representative Handover
The personal WhatsApp number(s) used to create client orders need clearer identification. It may seem minor, but a WhatsApp number with a pixelated profile photo of the word “internet,” not even the official logo, asking for your live location is a red flag, especially for Ugandans who’ve been scammed before. Since the official support call doesn’t clearly share the name or number of the agent who will contact you, the risk of impersonation is a real concern here. Someone else could text you, and worse, scam you, before the actual representative does. One thing online scammers (Abafere) rely on is timing. They often reach out just when you’re expecting someone to.
Power Outages Cut off Your Internet
When UEDCL does its thing, so does this internet—even when your router is connected to a power bank. Faibanet support explains that this happens because the distribution box on the pole runs on the same electricity grid. Other ISPs, like Canalbox Uganda, keep their internet connection during outages as long as your router remains powered. This makes a huge difference in blackout-prone areas.
Outdated Router
Faibanet’s internet runs through a 2.4GHz-only Huawei EchoLife EG8141A5 router. This choice likely reflects cost-saving measures on the provider’s end to keep prices affordable for customers. However, in 2025, this setup isn’t ideal. Most ISPs now provide newer dual-band routers that support both 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequencies, offering faster speeds, better stability, and improved handling of multiple devices.
The router is delivered already unboxed, without an Ethernet cable, a user manual, or any indication of being new. While it’s provided for free of charge, the lack of documentation and accessories somehow affects user confidence and satisfaction.
Router Configuration and Compatibility Issues
To make matters worse, the router triggers Wi-Fi security warnings on newer Apple devices. On PCs, some sites like cPanel for web developers don’t load properly unless settings are adjusted, though their customer support is quick to assist. For non-techies, this isn’t ideal, since most users only want to occasionally change their Wi-Fi name and password. Complex router settings aren’t necessary for most people.
Tip: Most fibre internet speeds match what’s advertised. What often slows them down is a poorly placed or not-the-best-quality router, along with Wi-Fi interference from walls or household devices. To check your actual speed, connect your PC or laptop directly to the router using an Ethernet cable. In our test, Faibanet’s 40 Mbps plan at UGX 99,000 is as good as one rival flagship plan.
Final Verdict on Faibanet Uganda – Is it worth it?
Faibanet gets several key aspects right—affordable pricing, reliable speeds in covered locations, and responsive customer support. However, its limited availability, power-dependent setup, and reliance on a not-so-good router hold it back.
Other than that, if you’re within Faibanet’s expanding coverage area and want to cut costs without sacrificing much internet speed, and you’re tired of dealing with terrible customer support from other ISPs, Faibanet is worth it. Honestly, even with the fastest internet, you’ll eventually need support.
