“Sorry, I can’t do that.” The frustration of hearing this often leaves you questioning what Siri can actually do. To solve this, we’ve decided to list all the things Siri can do, including some you probably didn’t know about.

Siri can answer simple questions like “What causes a rainbow?” and “What does a cat sound like?”

Siri can set alarms, reminders, add items to your lists, and tell you the time in all time zones. For instance, “Siri, what is the time in Vatican City?” Siri can also delete all alarms or undo commands.

Siri can make calls, send messages, and texts from Apple device pre-installed apps and WhatsApp. Try, “Siri, send a message to Babes saying I love you heart emoji.” When wearing AirPods, Siri can announce incoming calls and messages.

Siri gives you updates on weather, news, reminders, calendar events, and more. “Hey Siri, what is my update?”

Siri can take screenshots, start screen recordings, open any app like Camera or the Bible app, and perform tasks such as “Siri, play Made Me Glad by Hillsong Worship” on YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music, or any streaming platform. Siri can also perform web searches, close apps, and even restart your Apple device.

Siri can tell a joke, spell words, and even have conversations or perform calculations like, “Siri, what is 356.98 divided by 19.5?” A joke on Reddit has it that Canadians living in the US ask Siri to convert measurements to metric all the time.

Siri can help find your phone if it’s out of reach, just shout, “Siri, where is my phone?” (as long as the sound is on). Interestingly, Siri can instantly lock your phone. If someone grabs your phone, just say, “Siri, lock my phone.” (Reverse hack, when it’s you grabbing the phone, tap and hold the screen, Siri won’t turn on or lock the device)

Siri can read messages and texts from installed apps like WhatsApp, and you can reply by voice. “Siri, read my unread messages.”

Siri can turn settings on or off, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Location, AirDrop, Mobile Data, Hotspot, Low Power Mode, Airplane Mode, and even the Torch.

Siri can even wish you a good night. Simply ask before you sleep.

Siri can open Maps, help you know where you are, and even remember where you parked your car. “Siri, where did I park?” Connected to a smart home, Siri can turn on lights, play music, close windows, or turn on the TV.

Siri can also check system information on your device, including battery percentage, volume, and device. Oh, Siri can also adjust screen brightness and volume.

Siri can recognise songs. When the song is playing, ask “Siri, what song is this?”

Users on the latest Apple devices can now benefit from Siri’s proactive suggestions based on usage habits, like reminding you to call someone you often contact at a specific time or suggesting when to leave for an appointment based on traffic.

With Apple Intelligence, Siri can generate images and provide detailed text summaries.

With Apple’s Shortcuts app, Siri can execute complex, multi-step commands. For instance, you could say, “Siri, edit the photo I just took and send it to Mom,” and Siri will handle each step.

Siri can translate words or sentences, like, “Siri, translate ‘follow our WhatsApp channel’ to Spanish.”

Lastly, if you’re unable or prefer not to speak, enable “Type to Siri” in Accessibility settings to interact silently by typing your Siri commands. I know what you’re thinking, unfortunately, Siri can’t activate this feature by voice command, but it can open accessibility settings for you.

That’s it, now you know what Siri can do. And if you’ve effectively been using the Apple voice assistant feature, which Siri command do you use most often? Some comments…
