
On 28 August 2026, E-Bus Xpress, a subsidiary of Kiira Motors Corporation, deployed 15 additional Kayoola electric buses to ferry passengers to and from Kira Municipality.
The 15 electric buses now operate on three main routes connecting Kampala city to Kira Municipality via Ntinda.
Five (5) buses operate from Ntinda via Najjera, Kira, Kitukutwe, Kiwologoma to Nakwero and back.
Five (5) buses operate from Ntinda via Naaya, Kyaliwajjala, Namugongo to Sonde and back.
Five (5) buses operate from Ntinda via Kisaasi, Kyanja, to Kungu and back.

Pay E-bus Xpress using MTN MoMo
Dial *165*22#, enter merchant code 594435, enter the amount, and then enter your Airtel Money PIN to complete the payment.
Pay E-bus Xpress using Airtel Money
Dial *185*9#, enter the merchant code 4405648, enter the amount, and then enter your MTN MoMo PIN to complete the payment.
Registered users with cards can dial *272*80# on all networks to top up.
Note: The Airtel Money and MTN Mobile Money merchant codes apply to all Kayoola buses and routes deployed so far. The bus conductor confirms payment on board before the bus sets off.
Can I get off before the end of my route? Yes, you can. Kayoola buses have a stop button that passengers can press to alert the driver whenever they want to get off.
