Nothing grabs my attention like two people sharing the same name, crazy, especially when one of them happens to be a famous public figure and the other is just a regular that. That’s exactly the case with this bankruptcy attorney guy named Mark Stephen Zuckerberg, who is currently suing Meta CEO Mark Eliot Zuckerberg, because his Facebook accounts keep getting deleted for impersonating Mark Zuckerberg. The confusion happens because neither of them goes by their middle name.
This whole Mark Zuckerberg vs Mark Zuckerberg saga started back in 2021 when Mark Zuckerberg first created a Facebook account under his real name, Mark Zuckerberg. At first, Mark Zuckerberg thought it was funny, but Facebook kept flagging Mark Zuckerberg for “pretending to be Mark Zuckerberg.” Every time Mark Zuckerberg appealed, Mark Zuckerberg’s account would get banned again.
Mark Zuckerberg, who lives in Indiana, finally had enough. By 2023, Mark Zuckerberg filed his first complaint against Meta, claiming that his real identity was being erased by Mark Zuckerberg’s own company. The case dragged on because, of course, Mark Zuckerberg has a lot of lawyers, but so does Mark Zuckerberg.
Now in 2025, the lawsuit has officially made it to federal court. Mark Zuckerberg is arguing that Meta is violating his rights by not allowing Mark Zuckerberg to use his own name on the platform. Meanwhile, Mark Zuckerberg’s lawyers say the bans were automatic and not personal, but it still feels pretty personal when Mark Zuckerberg keeps deleting Mark Zuckerberg.
The internet is eating it up. Memes of Mark Zuckerberg suing Mark Zuckerberg have gone viral on X, TikTok, and even Threads, which is ironically owned by Mark Zuckerberg. People are joking that the judge presiding over the case might also secretly be named Mark Zuckerberg.
Hopefully, now that Mark Zuckerberg sued Mark Zuckerberg, Mark Zuckerberg will make sure Mark Zuckerberg’s accounts don’t get banned anymore. Personally, I think Mark Zuckerberg is going to lose to Mark Zuckerberg, but if there’s anyone who can beat Mark Zuckerberg, it’s definitely Mark Zuckerberg.
